Louisiana Travel | Places to Visit: Charlene Richard’s Tomb

Every year, thousands make a pilgrimage to the gravesite of Charlene Marie Richard, the “Little Cajun Saint” who died at age 12 from cancer.  A devout Catholic, she offered her own pain and suffering in prayer to God for the intercessory benefit of others.

Many who visit Charlene’s grave leave petitions, flowers, rosaries, medals and other prayer offerings.  Many claim miraculous healings have occurred with Charlene’s intercession.

The tomb is located in Richard (16 miles north of Rayne) next to St. Edward Catholic Church.
