Louisiana Travel | Laurel Valley Plantation Arts and Crafts Festival BY: Susan Arcement

The Laurel Valley Plantation Museum opens its doors for its arts and crafts festival every spring and fall.  The festival usually has about 30 arts and crafts booths selling various crafts from children’s clothes to woodwork, candles to holiday decorations.

A traditional Cajun lunch is served and you can choose from tables filled with homemade sweets for dessert.

Set on a working sugarcane plantation, you can view traditional machinery used in the harvesting of sugarcane. The museum is opened to view its rural life antiques.

You can watch craftsmen demonstrate traditional Cajun boatbuilding and children love feeding the farm animals.  You can purchase corn in the museum.
