Louisiana Travel : Festival of the Bonfires

Festival of the Bonfires
Lutcher, Louisiana

Enjoy a truly unique Cajun tradition – the lighting of bonfires on the levee to light Saint Nick’s way to bring toys to all the good little Cajun girls and boys. Each night of the festival is highlighted with a single bonfire lighting as a prelude to the famous Christmas Eve Bonfires.

The festival has live music; numerous contests including a Gumbo Cook-off, Potato Salad Showdown, Bread Pudding Bake-off and more; children’s live entertainment; carnival rides; car show; crafts; food booths; pictures with Santa and Santa’s Very Merry Forest.
