4 sticks butter
2 cups sugar
1-1/2 cups pecans, chopped or pieces
8 Hershey bars


Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add sugar and 1 cup pecans. Cook over low to medium heat, stirring frequently, until mixture is the color of peanut butter or a little darker.

Pour mixture into 11x13-inch pan and spread thin.

Place Hershey bars on top of mixture. When chocolate is melted, spread over mixture and sprinkle ½ cup pecans over chocolate.

Place in refrigerator for 1-2 hours to harden and cool.

After it hardens, use a knife to break the toffee into pieces.
