Tea Cakes


1 lb. butter
4 cups sugar
6 eggs, beaten
8 cups flour
4 teaspoons nutmeg
½ cup buttermilk
4 teaspoons vanilla
2 teaspoons baking soda


Beat butter and add sugar gradually. Add remaining ingredients and mix until a soft dough is formed.

Roll dough out on a well floured board. Cut into desired shapes.

Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
