Stuffed Turnips

INGREDIENTS:

8-12 medium turnips
1 lb. ground beef
2 medium onions, chopped
3 – 4 ribs of celery, chopped
1 large bell pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped
Seasoned bread crumbs
Season All to taste
Salt and pepper to taste
¼ cup sugar
1 lb. crabmeat
1 lb. shrimp, peeled and deveined
Green onions, chopped
Parsley, chopped
Additional bread crumbs and butter

DIRECTIONS:

Wash turnips. Put in a large pot of boiling water. Boil until tender. Remove from water and cool. Cut off top of turnips and scoop out turnip pulp with grapefruit spoon. Mash turnip pulp with potato masher and put aside.

Put ground beef, onions, celery, bell pepper and garlic in large saucepan. Cook until meat is browned and seasonings are tender. Add mashed turnip pulp to the mixture and cook until well mixed.

Add bread crumbs, Season All, salt, pepper and sugar. Cook for 5 minutes. Add crabmeat and shrimp. Cook 5 minutes or until shrimp is done. Add green onions and parsley.

Spoon mixture into turnips. Sprinkle bread crumbs on top and add a dab of butter. Place on baking sheet.

Bake 30 minutes in 350 degree oven.
