Stuffed Bell Peppers

5-6 Bell Peppers
½ lb. ground beef
½ lb. ground pork sausage
onions, bell peppers and celery, chopped (to taste)
½ cup rice
salt and pepper to taste
bread crumbs


Brown ground beef and pork sausage with seasoning. Simmer until cooked.

Cook rice while seasoning is browning.

Cut the tops off bell peppers and scrape out insides. Boil in salted water for approximately 15 minutes. Make sure bell peppers are completely submerged in water. Drain bell peppers and cool.

While peppers are cooling, stir cooked rice into meat mixture until evenly mixed. Spoon meat mixture into drained bell peppers.

Top with bread crumbs and bake in deep dish at 370 degrees for approximately 20 minutes.
