Shrimp Boil Bisque


3 qt. water
1 pkg. shrimp boil
4 potatoes
6 ears corn
1 (8-oz.) package whole mushrooms
1 pound shrimp
1 onion, chopped
1 bell pepper, chopped
1 stick butter
2 pints half-and-half
1 cup heavy cream


Fill a large stockpot with 3 quarts water. Add shrimp boil, potatoes, and corn. Boil for 10 minutes.

Add mushrooms and shrimp. Boil 5 minutes. Let soak 10 minutes. Peel shrimp and set aside.

Cube potatoes, set aside. Remove kernels from corn and slice mushrooms, set aside.

Sauté onion and bell pepper in butter until wilted. Add potatoes and cook for 5 minutes.

Add corn, mushrooms, shrimp, half-and-half, heavy cream and shrimp. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and cook 15 minutes.

Serve with French bread.
