Popcorn Balls

INGREDIENTS:

1 cup sugar
¾ cup light corn syrup
1 – 14 oz. can condensed milk
½ teaspoon salt
¼ cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
12 cups popped popcorn
2 cups peanuts or pecans

DIRECTIONS:

In heavy saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, condensed milk, and salt. Mix well. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly, until small amount dropped in cold water forms a soft ball. Remove from heat, let cool slightly. Stir in butter and vanilla.

Combine popcorn and nuts in large container. Pour caramel mixture over popcorn, toss and coat.

With well-buttered hands, quickly shape popcorn in 3-inch balls. Let stand at room temperature.
