Old-Fashioned Mashed Potatoes

4 large potatoes
1 tablespoon salt
1 5-oz. can evaporated milk
5 tablespoons butter


Peel and cut potatoes into cubes.  Place in medium saucepan.  Cover with water and add 1 tablespoon salt.  Boil until done, about 10 minutes.

Put butter in bottom of mixer bowl.  Add hot, drained potatoes and mix on medium-low speed until most of the lumps are gone.  On low speed, add evaporated milk in a slow stream.  Mix to combine.
