Nut Crisp


4 tablespoons butter
½ cup sugar
½ cup + 1/3 cup pecans, finely chopped
2 squares chocolate


In saucepan on very low heat, melt butter and slowly add sugar, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Cook to a brown syrup. This takes some time. The syrup should be the consistency of cane syrup.

Add pecans.

Pour onto large greased cookie sheet, roll out with greased rolling pin until 1/8-inch thick. It spreads quite a bit. Score in pieces 1 x 1 ½ inches.

Melt chocolate and spread on one side of candy and sprinkle with half of 1/3 cup pecans.

Allow to harden and turn over and coat other side of candy in same way.

Cut where scored.
