Ice Box Cookies


½ cup honey
½ cup brown sugar
1 egg
½ cup shortening
2 ½ cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt


Cream shortening. Add honey and brown sugar. Add egg and mix well.

Sift flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Add to creamed mixture and mix well.

Shape in long roll and wrap in waxed paper. Keep in refrigerator several hours at least. Cut into thin slices and bake at 375 degrees until brown.

The dough will keep 6 to 8 days in the ice box.
