Cornbread Dressing


2 lbs. ground beef
1 cup chopped onions
½ cup chopped celery
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ cup flour
2 cups corn meal
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
6 eggs
1 stick melted butter
1 pint milk
2 buns, soaked in water
Black pepper and cayenne
½ cup chopped green onion tops
½ cup chopped parsley


Season ground beef with salt and peppers. Put ground beef in saucepan. Add onions, celery, and garlic. Cook until vegetables are wilted and ground beef is browned.

Make cornbread by combining corn meal, flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well. Add 3 beaten eggs, melted butter, and milk. Mix well. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

In large bowl, crumble cooked cornbread. Add soaked, mashed buns, 3 beaten eggs, ground beef mixture, green onions and parsley. Mix well.

Put in greased pan and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
