Coconut Sour Cream Cake

INGREDIENTS:

Filling:

1 ¾ cup sugar
1 cup sour cream
12 oz. coconut

 

Cake:

1 pkg. white cake mix
1 tablespoon almond extract

DIRECTIONS:

Filling:
Mix filling ingredients together and set aside before mixing cake.

Cake:
Prepare cake mix according to directions but add almond flavoring.

Bake in 4 layers for 15-20 minutes according to the temperature on the box. Do not overbake.

Turn layer directly onto cake plate while hot and pour a little less than 1 cup of filling. Repeat with remaining 3 cake layers.

Let cake soak for 1 day before cutting. This last step is essential for the desired outcome.
