Bread Pudding


9 slices white bread
1 ¼ cups sugar
1 – 13 oz. can evaporated milk
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 eggs yolks
1/3 cup melted butter
4 egg whites


Rum Sauce


Break bread into small pieces into mixing bowl. Add 1 cup sugar, evaporated milk, milk, vanilla, egg yolks, and melted butter. Mix well.

Pour into 10x8x2-inch baking pan. Bake at 450 degrees for 15 minutes.

Make meringue by beating egg whites with ¼ cup sugar until stiff. Cover pudding with meringue and rebake for 3 to 4 minutes until meringue is golden brown.

Serve with Rum Sauce.
