Petersen’s Donuts & Desserts

Walking into this small, homey bakery, one can only help but feel welcomed. Looking at the multitude of desserts on display puts you in a little piece of heaven. Trying to decide on which pastry to get is usually the hardest part, but from personal experience, once you walk in, you will never want to leave.
Owners of Petersen’s Donuts & Desserts, Larry and Susan Petersen, and Louis and Madelyn Petersen, opened their doors to the public in June of 2011.
They are popularly known for their City Bakery products, the recipes of which were purchased from the original City Bakery in Thibodaux. These famous recipes date back over 80 years. But the desserts don’t end there. Donuts and other desserts are created using the owner’s grandmother’s recipes as well as other family recipes.
Along with the City Bakery products, Petersen’s Donuts and Desserts also sells donuts, cupcakes, cookies, fruit bars, ginger bars, Washington squares, and much more. What most people don’t know is that they also bake cakes for birthdays, weddings, and other events. Petersen’s Donuts and Desserts also makes traditional Cajun desserts like tea cakes and tarte a la bouillie.
Petersen’s Donuts and Desserts has expanded their business as the public can now buy these products at Rouse’s Supermarkets in the Thibodaux, Raceland, and Houma areas. These donuts and desserts can also be delivered to select locations.
